The C-MAR Group is pleased to announce that a crewing contract between C-MAR and the China Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation (COOEC) has been signed in September 2012 in an exciting stage of the Group's development in the Far East.
The contract with COOEC is to provide key personnel for their new build DP deep water Pipelay/Derrick vessel the ‘Hai Yang Shi You 201’, with a dual role of operating the vessel and training Chinese personnel over a two year period. The contract will also enable C-MAR to get involved with providing personnel to COOEC's many other vessels.
The vessel is equipped for S-pipelay in up to 2,000 metres of water and has a revolving crane with 3,500 tonnes capacity or 4,000 tonnes in tie-back mode. The vessel is also equipped with a DP-3 rated dynamic positioning system and its 5 welding positions in the main firing line enable it to lay 5 km of pipe per day. Overall the length of the vessel is 204.65 metres and it has accommodation for 380 persons, it is also equipped to operate in unrestricted navigation outside the Arctic.
COOEC is a state owned enterprise and is the largest offshore engineering and construction company in China providing integrated services through engineering design, onshore fabrication and offshore installation and maintenance for oil and gas exploration and production, underwater engineering, mid and downstream, and alternative energy projects.
Their market covers all Chinese sea areas and extends to the Middle East, the Southeast Asia and ROK, etc. It has provided high-quality services for China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), Shell, BP, CACT Operators Group, AMOCO, ARCO, Phillips, Texaco, Total, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hyundai Heavy Industries and other famous companies both at home and aboard. Furthermore, it has conducted the general design, construction, offshore installation and commissioning of oil and gas fields under different environmental conditions and oil product characteristics.
