Fluid Power Training

Recognising the industry’s shortage of skilled hydraulics engineers and technicians, C-MAR Group has developed a unique training course that will ensure your maintenance crews have a better understanding and knowledge of fluid power systems.

Aimed at maintenance staff who are directly involved in breakdown, repair and faultfinding in hydraulic systems, the course will ensure your people can quickly identify and resolve problems on hydraulics which can cause costly downtime.

The four-day course offers a blend of classroom instruction and practical training in a workshop environment that will cover:

  • Basic fluid power principles
  • Fluid contamination control
  • Direction control valves
  • Flow rates and adjustments
  • Hose, connectors and accessories

The ‘hands on’ practical sessions will make sure your maintenance crews can:

  • Set relief valves
  • Adjust motion control valves
  • Test pump performance
  • Adjust direction control valves
  • Find faults in systems
  • Monitor cleanliness of fluid

The course is co-ordinated by Graeme Bain, Hydraulic Engineer, C-MAR Group.

With 25 years' experience in oil and gas, Graeme has served on offshore platforms, drill ships, jack-ups and semisubmersibles. His extensive knowledge of offshore hydraulic equipment includes ram rig systems, top drive machines and pipe handling machinery. A proven leader in project managing services and commissioning work, he has developed and delivered all types of hydraulic drilling equipment training courses for several drilling companies.
