Tim commenced his career at sea in 1975 and saw service in product tankers, VLCCs, bulk carriers, Sail Training Association three-masted schooners, Ro-Ro, offshore standby, survey and port support vessels.
He came ashore in 1990 to work for Associated British Ports in Plymouth where he was the combined Operations Manager and Dock Master. In 2006 he joined Eagle Lyon Pope and worked on a number of worldwide port development projects that involved navigational analysis, port infrastructure review and design layout, fast time ship simulation and mooring plans. In 2007 Tim became Harbour Master at Dundee, working for the Forth Ports Group.
During his career in the ports industry Tim has gained a comprehensive knowledge of the operational and financial aspects of port operations. He has compiled regulatory and voluntary port plans, managed operations and marine departments including all shore and water based plant and completed a number of port environmental, operational and safety improvement port and projects.
Tim holds a Master Mariner’s Certificate of Competency, a Certificate in Health and Safety and an Institute of Management Certificate in Business Studies. He joined C-Mar in September 2009 as Marine Consultant.
